The South Australia Government's SA Health Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) team comissioned Captovate to design and develop five interactive eLearning modules. These modules were to encompass the new legislative requirements related to organisational procurement and contract management activities integrated within their procurement management system, known as Procurement and Contract Management System (PCMS).
Content Creation: Captovate's first task was to develop content by extracting and synthesising information from the provided policy and process documents. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, our development team created the structure and flow, and refined the content based on stakeholder feedback. To streamline the development process, Captovate utilised PowerPoint to craft storyboards, which not only facilitated easy feedback but also provided the flexibility to adjust the content as needed.
Design: Our skilled graphic design team at Captovate constructed slide designs in accordance with the provided style guide. This collaborative effort extended to working closely with the learning team to ensure the creation of visually engaging and interactive instructional materials. The modules featured narration by avatars, using the characters available within Articulate. These avatars employed a range of poses to enhance engagement and create a more immersive learning experience.
Knowledge Checks: To maintain an engaging learning experience, Captovate designed interactive knowledge checks throughout the modules. These checks allowed learners to actively engage with the content, reinforcing their understanding and retention of critical information.
Development: The development phase encompassed various crucial tasks, including synchronising content with voiceovers, building interactive elements, and refining the overall interactivity of the course materials. This phase aimed to bring the content to life and ensure a seamless and effective learning experience for the audience.
While the screencasts appear to be simple recordings, our developers bring an extra layer of skill to the table. They meticulously synchronise voice instructions to the interactions on the screen, creating well timed highlights and pop out features to draw the users attention to the area within the screen.
